(5-17-21) Ohio’s all-time winningest girls high school basketball coach, Ed Zink of Beavercreek, last week decided to step down after 46 years and 810 wins and coaching in over 1,000 games.

Zink is the only girls basketball coach Beavercreek has had since the sport was first sanctioned by the OHSAA in the 1975-76 season. He coached his 1,000th career game in 2018. In 2008 the gym at Beavercreek High School was renamed Ed Zink Fieldhouse.

Zink’s Beavercreek teams over those 46 years have won 21 league championships in the Western Ohio League and Greater Western Ohio Conference, 18 district championships and six regional championships…3 state championships in 1995, 2001 and 2003 and 3 final four appearances in 1991, 1994 and 1996.

Oh yeah…Zink graduated from Beavercreek High School.

Zink was enshrined in the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame on May 19, 2012 in Columbus
