(6-18-21) Buchanan will play for their 1st MHSAA D3 State softball title after beating Standish-Sterling 9-4 in the State semifinal game this afternoon. The Bucks will play Richmond who beat Clinton 5-1 tomorrow at 5:30pm tomorrow at Michigan State’s Secchia Stadium.

The middle of Buchanan’s batting order provided the punch , Hailee Kara, Alea Fisher and Camille Lozmack all had 3 hits and and Hannah Tompkins added two more. Six players helped with run production having at least one RBI, while Brooke Atkinson and Kamille Lemon each had two. The Bucks had 15 hits, Buchanan has won 15 of its last 16 games.

Standish-Sterling was led by Karasyn Kraska who went 3 for 3 scoring 2 runs and Kylie Wendel had 2 RBIs.

The Bucks Sophia Lozmack picked up the complete game pitching win giving up 12 hits, 2 walks, with 3 K’s and 3 earned runs.
