(7-7-21) The US knocked off Korea 132-60 in the first round game of the round of 16 at the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2021 in Latvia.

The Americans jumped out early and never looked back in win that saw an offensive explosion. Every American player scored 3 or more points, 8 of the 12 scored in double figures.

Chet Holmgren led the US with a double-double scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds, plus 3 blocked shots. Peyton Watson had 15 points and 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocked shots. Caleb Furst was 7 of 8 from the field for 14 points and 5 rebounds, Kenneth Lofton, Jr. added 14 points and 6 rebounds. Also scoring in double figures was Ryan Kalkbrenner and Patrick Baldwin, Jr, both had 12 points, while Adam Miller and Jaden Ivey both added 11 points.

The US out rebounded Korea 62-35 and shot (57-92) 62% from the field.

The 132 points scored by the US was a new team record, the previous mark was 124 points set in 1991 versus Japan.

The US advances to the quarter-final round on Friday when they take on Senegal who knocked off the host team Latvia 57-44.
