(11-1-21) The Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) 3A State Volleyball Championship match will feature two schools who are not strangers to playing at the highest level – Bellmont and Brebeuf Jesuit.

Bellmont had no problem on Saturday at the Huntington North 3A State Semi-State Volleyball Championship beating West Lafayette 25-13, 25-16, 25-15. Bellmont will play Brebeuf Jesuit at 4 p.m. Saturday at Worthen Arena in Muncie for the State Championship.

With the win Bellmont picks up its second semi-state title in three seasons, it was their 16th trip to the semi-states. Bellmont’s last trip to the State Final game was in 2020 when they lost to Brownstown Central 22-25, 25-21, 34-32, 25-19.

It took the Braves five sets to beat Silver Creek at the Columbus East semi-state…they were led by Delaney Seaman 18 kills, 29 assists and 2 aces. Lola Schumacher had 27 digs. Elizabeth Phillips had 6 blocks.

Brebeuf Jesuit has won four 3A state titles 2003 (3A), 2005 (3A), 2009 (3A), 2013 (3 and has been runner-up three times 2010 (2A), 2017 (3A), 2020 (3A). Last year the Braves lost to Ft. Wayne Bishop Dwenger in five sets 22-25, 19-25, 27-25, 25-15, 17-15.
