(11-6-21) A big day at the OHSAA State Cross Country Championships at Fortress Obetz for the Statedline area.

The Minster girls added another state trophy to their collection, it is there 14th overall and 5th in the past 6 years.

The Wildcats outdistanced 2nd place Liberty-Benton 66-108. St. Henry finished 10th and Ft. Recovery was 12th.


Minster was led by Margaret Hemmelgarn with a time of 18:23.1 and finished 3rd, teammate Taylor Roth finished 9th in a time of 18:42.1.

Maplewood’s Caleigh Richards was the individual race champion in a time of 18:16.2.

Perry’s Brady Yingst ran a time of 15:29.4, 15 seconds ahead of 2nd place Hayden Schmidt (15:44.7) from Anna and was the individual race champion.

Minster’s Alex Albers finished 6th in a time of 15:59.2.

East Canton picked up the team title in front of Mount Gilead 93-108, Ft. Loramie was 3rd one point back at 109. Minster was 11th with 289 points.
