(12-31-21) Southern California Academy is celebrating the mid-season addition of a 5-Star Point Guard, Dior Johnson, to complete the season. Southern California Academy will be his 10th high school in less then four years.

In a USA Today High School Sports story (by Tyler Calvaruso) that featured the 10 high schools Johnson has played for –

Johnson stayed home and played for Saugerties (NY) played on the varsity team as a middle school athlete that would score 1,000 points before his freshman year.

His next stop as a freshman, to start the season, was at IMG Academy…but would return to Saugerties, before leaving and finishing the season at Findlay Prep (Nevada).

Johnson’s next stop was at Findlay Prep…but they ended their basketball program. That would lead him to Hillcrest Prep (Az) for a very short stay before going to Fairfax (California), but would never play for them. His next stop during his sophomore year was at Mayfair (Lakewood, Calif).

Johnson would transfer to Oak Hill Academy (Va) after his sophomore season, but would later end up back in California at Centennial (Corona) for his junior year, where he was a member of the 21-2 team and pick up a state title.

Starting his senior season this year he was at Prolific Prep before moving over to Southern California Academy.

High school basketball does not need a transfer portal like college, they come and go as they please. So far Johnson is committed to playing for Oregon next year.

In Vandalia, Ohio you will be able to see Johnson and Southern California Academy play twice at the Flyin’ To The Hoop Tournament on Sunday and Monday (January 16th and 17th). They also we back in Ohio at the Top Gun Showcase playing both days Saturday and Sunday (March 12th and 13th).
