(1-6-22) It seems from indications that some are starting to push the panic button with moving forward with high school sports on a normal basis. With state tournaments approaching what impacts can we see taking place.

The list grows longer everyday of games being cancelled or postponed due to ‘COVID Protocols’ up and down the area statelines.

Chicago the last two days has cancelled classes due to the teacher’s union request to do at home learning due to COVID concerns. Chicago Public Schools as part of the cancelled days also put stopped all athletic practices and events. Forcing teams to cancel games.

From masks, vaccines, no crowds and other issues that could could cause a Covid interruption or cancellations of state tournaments are all starting to appear. Had it not been for the winter of 2020 and the stoppage of events many would not believe this would still be going on…but it is.

Let us all hope that high school athletics continues, it is important for all involved
