About the streak Jessica Eden told cleveland.com before the meet –
“It’s been going on for so long that nobody wants to be the one that ends it. Streaks are meant to eventually end, but I don’t think anyone feels the pressure to keep it going. I think we just want to do what we’ve been preparing for all season. This goes, I think, for every swimmer that’s ever swam at Hawken. All you’re looking to do is be better than you were yesterday and the year before.”
Hawken has the third longest active girls swimming state title streak in the United States, behind Carmel (Indiana) (37) and Jacksonville (Florida) Bolles (32). The Hawks 31 state titles overall is the fourth-most all-time in the country.
