(3-11-22) Today at UD Arena the New Knoxville girls basketball team knocked off giant-killer Cincinnati Country Day 39-28. The Rangers will play for the D IV state title on Saturday at 5:15pm against the other semifinal winner of the Waterford-Buckeye Central game.

The Knighthawks had knocked off both Ft. Loramie and Tri-Village in last week’s Regionals. The two teams were ranked #1 and #2 in D IV.

The New Knoxville defense played tough in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, the Nighthawks only scored 2 points in the 2nd quarter and 6 in the 3rd quarter.

Ellie Gabel led the Rangers with 12 points, Carsyn Henschen had 10 points and 8 rebounds, while Avery Henschen had 11 rebounds.

No Nighthawk scored in double figures, Elizabeth Zimmerman has 9 points.
