
(4-11-22) Celina Senior High (1979 grad) Hall of Famer Mike Reichert passed away suddenly on April 3rd, he was 61.
At Celina Reichert was a basketball star, he ended his career with 1,086 points and helped to lead the Bulldogs to a Western Buckeye League (WBL) title during the 1978-79 season. The Bulldogs would lose to Napoleon in OT the District tournament 51-49.
The 6-foot-8 Reichert spent his college career at the University of Dayton where he played with UD Hall of Famers Roosevelt Chapman and Mike Kanieski and started as a senior in 1982-83. He was fourth on the team in scoring that season with a 9.0 average and second in rebounding with a 6.9 mark.
The Flyers finished 18-10 with wins over Marquette, DePaul and Temple and missed out on a NIT bid.

REICHERT, Michael Aloys

Age 61, of Yellow Springs, Ohio, passed away Sunday, April 3rd, 2022. Born March 6th, 1961, Mike is survived by his beautiful wife, Jo Frannye Reichert, and their four cherished sons, Zack (Jessica), Zane, Zeb, and Zeke, his grandchildren Alaric, Aiden, and Lillian, and his eldest brother Steve (Patricia). A celebration of life will be held Sunday, April 10th at 2 pm in the Venet Building, 405 Corry St., Yellow Springs.
