(5-14-22) Yesterday at Van Wert the O-G Titans girls and Van Wert Cougars picked up Western Buckeye League trophies.

For the Cougar boys it was their 8th title (2022, 19, 12, 05, 04, 01, 1998, 87), while the Titan girls picked up their 6th title.. (2022, 07, 06, 05, 04, 1980).

Every point or even a half-of-point matters….O-G won the WBL girls title by just .5 points nipping Celina 100.5-100, followed by St. Marys (78), Kenton (61.50) and Van Wert (50).

O-G’s Alexa Fortman broke the 800 m record, which was set in 1981, winning in a time of 2:11.78, breaking the previous league record of 2:16.80. She also won the won the 400 m (58.35), and was the anchor in the winning 1,600 relay team.

Celina’s Kaylie Dameron won both the 1,600 (5:16.52) and 3,200 (11.51.90).

Tatum Miller had a monster WBL meet!

Van Wert picked up the WBL boys title just ahead of 2nd place Shawnee 119.50-94. Celina (55), Defiance (54.50) and O-G (51.50)
