(6-10-22) The Botkins girls basketball team will have a new head coach next season, in a Tweet it was announced that Tyler Carson would take over the program. Carson is a graduate of Miami East and BGSU.

Carson founded the Rangers Basketball program and has over 18 years of experience coaching boys and girls in grades 3rd through 11th.  Along with individual training, Tyler has also spent time on the high school boys’ coaching staff at Troy, Northwestern and Indian Lake and last season was the girls’ varsity assistant coach at Troy High School.

Carson replaces Brittany (Gross) Butler, she was hired in May of 2021, as a Business teacher and had coached at Dublin Jerome for four years as their JV basketball coach before taking the Botkins job. After one year at Botkins she was hired this past May to be the new girls basketball head coach at Eastwood.

This past season Butler led the Trojans to 3rd place finish in the Shelby County Athletic League with an 8-4 record, 17-8 overall.
