6-10-22 – Tonight in Owensboro, Kentucky the first of two games between the best girls high school basketball players in Indiana and Kentucky matched up.
In a see-saw game the Indiana All Stars would hang on for a 67-66 win over Kentucky, thanks to a game-winning bucket by Michigan commit Alyssa Crockett (Westfield) with just 2.2 seconds remaining.
Indiana was led by Tanyuel Welch (North Central) with 13 points, while Ashlyn Traylor (Franklin) added 12 points and Jessica Carrothers (Crown Point) had 12 points and 9 rebounds.
Kentucky’s Miss Basketball Amiya Jenkins (Anderson County) had a game high 16 points, Josie Gilvin (Sacred Heart) had 14 points and Gracie Merkle (Bullitt East) had 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Indiana played without two players…Miss Basketball Ayanna Patterson (Homestead) who was on the Indiana bench, also missed Wednesday’s game with the Indiana Junior All Stars.

Mila Reynolds of South Bend Washington, a Maryland commit, is not here. Her parents picked her up on Thursday morning. She will not be part of the team this weekend.
Tomorrow tonight the two teams will match-up again at the Southport Fieldhouse.
