St. Marys 2022 Tournament Champions

(10-2-22) St. Marys surprised fellow Western Buckeye League (WBL) members by winning the WBL Tournament yesterday 43-42 over Shawnee. The Roughriders finished the regular season just above .500 with a 5-4 record, by picking up the Tournament title that placed them in 2nd place in the WBL title championship chase.

Jodi Perry and Elizabeth Brown led St. Marys picking up the 1st Team Doubles Tournament title. The Roughriders’ Molly Schlosser and Audrey Shannon finished 2nd in the 2nd doubles, Cora Rable was 2nd in the 3rd singles and Charley Spencer was 3rd in 1st Singles.

Shawnee finishing with a 9-0 regular season record and 2nd in the tournament picked up the 2022 WBL Championship, repeating from last season. For the Indians it was their 22nd title.
