(10-31-22) #5 seed Huron (9-2) will travel to #4 seed Coldwater (10-1) on Friday night in a D V Quarterfinal football playoff game.

Huron won their 1st round game over Edison 35-14, while Coldwater breezed by North Union 41-7.

For the Tigers playing Edison in the 1st round game was a ‘deja vu all over again’ moment…the two teams had just played in the week 10 season finale with the Tigers winning 31-6.

Huron has a 9-2 record…they lost both games this season by just one point…losing to Perkins 29-28 and Oak Harbor 29-28 in OT.

Coldwater, being the higher seed, will again host another playoff game. Last week the Cavs had no problems with North Union winning 41-7. The Cavs lost their first game of the season in week 10 to county and Midwest Athletic Conference (MAC) rival Marion Local 35-0, the Flyers are the #1 D VI team in Ohio.

The Cavs have played the last two games without QB Marcel Blasingame, who broke a bone in his leg in the Versailles game. How big is that? Last week Blasingame was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Year.
