(11-1-22) In a D VII Quarterfinal football match-up this Friday night sees undefeated #3 seed Waynesfield-Goshen (11-0) hosting #6 seed Gibsonburg (9-2).

Entering the playoffs Connor Smith established a Gibsonburg record for career yards rushing at 6,007. For the regular season he had 2,511 yards this season to surpass the former record of 2,224 and 37 touchdowns.

In a 1st round win over Edgerton (42-14) he added to those numbers with 37 carries for 302 yards and for the third time in his career he had six TDs (2, 3, 42, 1, 55 and 24 yards).

The Golden Bears lost their week 10 game to Hopewell-Loudon 40-13, but bounced back in the 1st round playoff game beating Edgerton 42-14.

Leading Waynesfield-Goshen this season is Quarterback Drew Breitigam (Jr) who was voted the Northwest Central Conference (NWCC) Offensive Player of the Year.

The 1989 was the first Tiger squad to go undefeated during the regular season… the 2nd Tiger team in school history to accomplish that feat was this season’s group.

The Tigers beat North Central, a first year football program, in the 1st round playoff game .
