(1-3-23) In October of 2021 Tyler Brown, who was 15 at the time, was shot in the head by a passing car while he was driving in a car in South Bend with his dad…it would leave himin critical condition,

According to police records…Brown was with his father, who was giving him driving lessons as their vehicle stopped at Johnson and Elwood in South Bend. Shots were fired from a passing vehicle. Brown was shot in the head and was treated for life-threatening injuries and survived despite being in a coma for four days.

The good news Brown is recovering and has joined his basketball teammates at South Bend St. Joseph this season… recently he scored his first varsity point.

His survival and courage during this tragedy is inspiring as a life event that we can all appreciate.
