(6-7-23) The Battle of Indiana All Stars took place tonight in Indianapolis at Cathedral High School as the Junior Stars took on the Senior Stars.

In the girls game…Carroll (Flora)’s Alli Harness led the way for the Juniors in a 102-75 win over the Seniors. Harness was the game’s high scorer with 19 points with 5 of 10 from behind the 3pt line, she added 6 rebounds. Ft. Wayne Snider’s Jordyn Poole had 15 points, Ft. Wayne Snider’s Joh’nea Donahue had 13 points, Kamilton Height’s Camryn Runner had 12 points and Jennings County’s Julian Woodard had a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. The Juniors were 18 of 39 behind the arc.

The Seniors were led by by Miss Indiana Laila Hull (Zionsville) who had a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Forest Park’s Amber Tretter had 13 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 steals. Saige Stahl had 11 points and Riley Makalusky added 10 points.

In the boys game…the Juniors who trailed early came back to beat the Seniors 105-100. Leading the Juniors was Kokomo’s Flory Bidunga, who was named Pangos All-American Camp MVP in Las Vegas 24 hours ago, made it back in time to play for the Junior All Stars. What a game he had scoring 18 points, 21 rebounds to give him a double-double and he would add 4 assists and 6 blocked shots. Jack Benter was right behind scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds to add another double-double for the Juniors. Micah Davis was the game high scorer with 26 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.

The Seniors were led in scoring by Penn’s Mr. Basketball Markus Burton who had 23 points and 5 rebounds. Also scoring in double-digits was Myles Colvin with 18 points, Zane Doughty from Ben Davis had 13 points and 6 rebounds and Logan Imes with 11 points.

The Indiana-Kentucky All Star Series will continue…when the two All-Star teams (boys and girls) will have home-and-home doubleheaders with games in Indiana and Kentucky — June 9th at the Owensboro SportsCenter in Owensboro, Ky., and June 10th at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
