Friday the 13th is considered an unlucky day in Western superstition. It occurs when the 13th day of the month in the Gregorian calendar falls on a Friday, which happens at least once every year but can occur up to three times in the same year.

(10-13-23) Friday the 13th would be the night that ended the Andale (Kansas) national consecutive game winning streak at 57.

In overtime Cheney would pick-up a 36-30 win over the Indians.

Taking over the national #1 spot is John Milledge Academy (Ga) with 56 consecutive wins, including a 40-6 win over Stratford Academy last night.

Moving up to the #2 spot is Marion Local (Ohio) who handled county rival St. Henry last night 41-7. The Flyers will try to continue the streak next week with an Ohio small school monumental game with conference and county rival Coldwater…who is 9-0 on the season.

No one else fell to the Friday the 13th curse…but the rest of the teams behind Marion Local have streaks from 34 to 39 wins. A lot can happen when the state playoffs start.
