(10-31-24) The result of a University Interscholastic League (UIL) investigation on recruiting violations by the Oak Cliff (Texas) Faith Family girls basketball coachi9ng staff .
The UIL ruled that the 18 players who transferred this year are ineligible for the playoffs…a decision about whether they can play for Oak Cliff Faith Family during the regular season has not yet been announced.
18 players transferred after Coach Andrea Robinson agreed to take over the team at Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy. Robinson has 584 career wins and four state titles between her previous stops at Fort Worth Dunbar and DeSoto,
Four of the players who transferred were listed among the top 100 in the nation.
In a Houston Chronicle story…13-5A District Executive Committee member James Colbert Jr., who’s also the superintendent of the Harris County Department of Education said —
“It has been said time and time again, not only by the panel, but also the administration at Faith Academy that we recognize that the optics of this are terrible. In my years of being in education and being a former coach and administrator, it is no accident when you have 18 students transfer to one program in one year. That doesn’t sit well with me. The lack of timeliness of getting documentation in is absolutely ridiculous.”
The transfers could still play this season if found ineligible to compete at Faith Family. UIL rules state that a student who transfers for an impermissible reason is still eligible at their previous school without a waiver.
The Eagles first game is scheduled for this Saturday at Legion Preparatory Academy.
UIL Ruling
…three years of probation, a one-year suspension from postseason play and a public reprimand.
…Head Coach Andrea Robinson along with two assistant coaches,Assistant coaches Kadi Creel and Jordan Jones, were given a two-year suspension from all UIL activities, followed by two years of probation and a public reprimand.

When will the UIL deal with all of the football illegal transfers here in Texas. It seems as if the harshest penalties are only for women…
