(10-10-25) Tonight in a Midwest Athletic Conference (MAC) football match-up in Maria Stein, Ohio…Marion Local will host conference rival Anna. The Flyers have won 71 consecutive games, which is the longest current streak in the US.

So why do many think that the Flyers streak will end tonight?

Two close calls this year for Marion Local…first they survived a close call to beat county rival St. Henry 21-14 after trailing for much of the game. Two weeks ago the streak looked to be ending when the Flyers scored late in the 4th quarter to beat Versailles 20-19, the winning score came with the aid of a disputed call that went viral across the country.

Last week…the Versailles team that gave Marion Local a major scare the week before was thumped by Anna 35-7. That game had barely ended when social media had the Rockets ending the streak tonight when the two play.
