District Champions

(2-25-26) The Celina Girls Bowling team won the D I District Championship at Star Lanes at the Harbor and punched their tickets to the State Championships.

Celina Coach Josh Goff-

Hard work pays off. Ladies claim the District Title by 475 pins and punch their ticket to the Division 1 OHSAA tournament in Columbus March 7. Spare shooting was the difference today between us and everyone else, and a massive game three gave us a large lead allowing us to bowl all 8 ladies during the bakers.

Making the all tournament team was Chloe Bruce who led the team and was second individually with a 590 series, Corinne Westgerdes with a 561 for 5th place overall, and Marissa Hole a 551 for 7th place overall.

Brynly Huber was 9th overall with a 535 series and Ryann Eckhardt was 11th overall all with a 523.

Mallory Fortman, Kayana Wills, and Arynn Eckhardt found ways to contribute as teammates as they have all season long. Their ability to help their teammates from the bench is one of the reasons we have been as strong as we have been all season long. Then when their numbers were called in the bakers they helped keep the momentum going with great baker games.

It would have been real easy to coast through our two practices between sectionals and districts, but this group came in determined to fix what we needed to and it paid off. We’ll work hard over the next week and a half, and finish our story in Columbus. Go Dogs!
