
(5-18-26) IndyStar Indiana Mr. Basketball Luke Ertel of Mt. Vernon (Fortville) will play his final games as a high school player on June 3, June 5 and June 6 as a member of the 2026 Indiana All-Star team.
The IndyStar Indiana All-Stars are presented by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association. The Indianapolis Star is the title sponsor of the Indiana All-Stars. Hoosier Shooting Academy is a presenting partner of All-Star Week (May 31-June 6). Energy Systems Group is a presenting partner of the June 6 senior doubleheader against Kentucky.

This is the 88th year of the Indiana boys’ All-Stars. This is the 51st year of the Indiana girls’ All-Stars.
Ertel, his boys’ All-Star teammates and the 2026 Indiana girls’ All-Stars will play three games each — an exhibition against the Indiana Junior All-Stars on Wednesday, June 3 at Mt. Vernon (Fortville) followed by home-and-home doubleheaders against the Kentucky All-Stars on Friday, June 5 at Lexington Catholic High School and Saturday, June 6 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Ertel, who totaled 1,756 points, 659 rebounds, 432 assists and 124 steals in helping Mt. Vernon (Fortville) to a 80-27 four-season record, is headed to Purdue University. He averaged 24.5 points, 9.9 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.8 steals as senior in leading the Marauders to the Class 4A state championship with a 28-3 mark. He also was named an Iverson Classic All-American, a MaxPreps third-team All-American, Gatorade Indiana Player of the Year and MaxPreps Indiana Player of the Year. The 6-2 guard will be joined on the 2026 boys’ All-Stars by Dane Caldwell of Silver Creek, Anthony Fresh of Charlestown, Evan Harrell of Carmel, Ja’Shawn Ladd of Ben Davis, Kai McGrew of Fishers, Brennan Miller of Lawrence North, Brady Scholl of Northridge, Dikembe Shaw of Crown Point, Nick Shrewsberry of South Bend Saint Joseph, Noah Smith of Plainfield, Baron Walker of Noblesville and Cameron Webster of Lawrence North.



The 2026 boys’ All-Stars will be coached by Todd Woelfle of Terre Haute North. He will be assisted by Chad Ballenger of Hamilton Heights and Joe Bradburn of Mt. Vernon (Fortville).
Indiana Miss Basketball Gracyn Gilliard of Center Grove headlines the 2026 Indiana girls’ All-Stars. Gilliard, a Stanford University recruit, averaged 25.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 2.7 steals in propelling CG to the Class 4A state title at 29-0. Playing two seasons at Munster and two seasons at Center Grove, she posted career totals of 1,879 points, 438 rebounds, 179 assists and 336 steals for teams that went a combined 82-17.

Gilliard will be joined on the 2026 girls’ All-Stars by Lilli Barnes of Valparaiso, Komari Booker of Pike, Joslyn Bricker of Warsaw, Laniah Davis of Marquette Catholic, Myah Epps of Homestead, Mollie Ernstes of Jennings County, Kennedy Holman of Hamilton Southeastern, Lola Lampley of Lawrence Central, Brooklynn Renn of Silver Creek, Vanessa Rosswurm of Norwell, Laniah Wills of Lapel and Brooke Zartman of Warsaw.
Epps is injured an unable to play.


The 2026 girls’ All-Stars will be coached by Joe Huppenthal of Lake Central. He will be assisted by Amy Shearer of Columbia City and Brian Smith of Loogootee.



The Indiana boys hold a 107-46 advantage in their series with Kentucky that began in 1940, one year after the first All-Star team played Indiana state champ Frankfort High School. The Indiana girls have a 55-43 lead in their series with Kentucky that started in 1976. No games were played in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the boys’ All-Stars did not play in 1943 or 1944 because of World War II.

As part of the All-Star doubleheader on June 6, the All-Stars will announce the 2026 recipients of the annual Wooden/MCL Citizenship Awards. The girls’ winner will be announced at halftime of the girls’ game. The boys’ winner will be announced at halftime of the boys’ game. This is the 35th year that the Wooden Citizenship awards have been presented, all 35 years sponsored by MCL Restaurant & Bakery.
The 2026 Indiana Junior All-Stars will play two doubleheaders this year. Those games will be May 31 in Charlestown against the Kentucky Juniors and June 3 at Mt. Vernon (Fortville) against the Indiana Seniors. Those scheduled to compete in both games for the Junior boys are Harper Baker-Lands of Plainfield, Jason Gardner Jr. of Fishers, Isaiah Hill of Pike, Jahari Miller of Pike, Max Vise of Mt. Vernon (Fortville) and Cooper Zachary of Fishers. Completing the team on May 31 are Devin Bolden of Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter, Duncan Combs of Bloomington South, Derrick Cross Jr. of Bloomington North, Jake Grissom of Guerin Catholic, Brandon Hunter of Silver Creek and Tyler Renn of Terre Haute North. Completing the team on June 3 are Brody Baker of Harrison (West Lafayette), Cash Daniels of Carmel, Elijah King of South Bend Saint Joseph, Da’Kori Parker of South Bend Riley, Austin Schlabach of Westview and Mack Welker of Homestead.
Playing in both games for the Junior girls are Lillie Graves of McCutcheon, Adah Hupfer of Pendleton Heights, Claire Larrison of Greensburg, Hannah Menser of Plainfield, Kylah Patterson of Hammond Morton, Paige Schaus of Gibson Southern and Lily Scholl of Northridge.
Completing the team on May 31 are Te’Asia Briscoe of Purdue Poly-Englewood, Alaina Diamond of Loogootee, Kendal Hill of South Knox, Chesney Jackson of Charlestown, Saniya Smith of Pike and Etta Young of Jennings County. Completing the team on June 3 are Payton DuVall of Franklin Central, Kenzie Koch of Eastern Hancock, Elliot Leffler of Roncalli, Courtney Mathew of Rensselaer Central, Carlee Schrader of Northview and Hallie Schwieterman of Jay County. Scott McClelland is head coach of the Junior Boys. He is assisted by Heath Howington of Class A state champion Barr-Reeve.
Lisa Finn of Indianapolis Cathedral is head coach of the Junior Girls. She is assisted by Andy Heim of Class 3A state champion Bellmont.
The Senior boys and the Senior girls lead their respective Junior rivals in games that began in 1996 by identical 42-12 counts. The Indiana Juniors lead in games the Kentucky Juniors, the boys ahead 9-5 and the girls ahead 13-1.
The All-Star “Futures Games” are in their fourth year in 2026 and will be played June 1 at New Palestine. This is a doubleheader that features Indiana-only teams of sophomores and freshmen in a North-South format.
The North boys include Bradly Basila of Chesterton, Don Bowling III of Anderson, Caleb Coolman of Penn, Will Davison of New Palestine, Quentavious Fly of Bowman Academy, Charles Hardiman of Merrillville, Bryce LaCross of Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian, Mari Leggett of Blackford, Josh McBride of Norwell, D.J.
