GUESS WHAT, GUYS?! PARKER WIGGLED HIS FINGERS TODAY!!!

(9-4-26) I cannot even tell you how exciting that was to see! Every little movement feels absolutely HUGE right now. Considering that it is still very frustrating for him that he has to ask everyone for everything, the hope that he will be able to use his hands is big.

And that wasn’t the only win today. Parker rode FOUR MILES on the electrical stim bike! He is sitting up with assistance and when they give him a little push off balance, he is able to recover some of the time and stabilize himself. They also have been able to stand him up for very short periods! They are working on getting his body used to being upright again so that his blood pressure doesn’t drop when he stands up. His prognosis for walking in time is GOOD so that was exciting to hear.

I truly feel like we are watching a miracle unfold before our very eyes. We can SEE the results of all of your prayers, and it is incredible. God is healing our boy, and we are continuing to pray and believe for a FULL recovery. Please keep praying with us.

And then… as if today wasn’t already amazing enough, some of the Ohio State quarterbacks walked into Parker’s room to meet him.

When you’ve worked as hard as Parker has to become the athlete he is—and when you’ve prayed as hard as he has to finally be 6’2” and 200 pounds —you have a tremendous respect for other athletes who have put in the work to become excellent at their craft and have the physical attributes to get it done. I know meeting these very talented young men meant so much to him.

We had a little heads up, so Gary AND Hudson got to be there for it, which made it even sweeter. Hudson actually met Tavien St. Clair a few years ago after Parker played against him in a Celina/Bellefontaine scrimmage. Hudson was only 9 or 10 and wanted so badly to meet him, and Tavien took the time to shake his little hand. And now here they are again, years later, standing in Parker’s hospital room.

Athletes truly may never know the impact they have on little kids—or even adults. Watching these young men be so respectful, kind and encouraging was such a blessing.

So tomorrow, for the FIRST TIME EVER, even though half of our family will be home and half will be here at the hospital, the Wynks will all be united in SCARLET AND GRAY.

This is my official public apology to my dad and my entire Michigan-loving family.

Ohio stole my heart 23 years ago when I met Gary…but apparently it just took me this long to submit to the amazingness of Buckeye Nation to fully join their ranks

I will ALWAYS love Ann Arbor, Zingerman’s and the Big House. But watching The Best Damn Band in the Land from the windows of the ICU wing at Wexner, and seeing the joy that the Ohio State family has brought Parker during one of the hardest times of his life, changed something in me.

At first, we were simply hoping Parker could get out of his bed long enough to look out those windows and see the team practicing. Now we are watching him do so much more.

Ohio State has truly stolen my heart because of the way they have loved on our boy and brought him joy in the middle of this storm. I will be eternally grateful.

I love you, my big beautiful Michigan family.

AND DID I MENTION THE BENGALS AND BOWLING GREEN SENT PARKER CARE PACKAGES?!

Thank you so much to both! BG just earned about 10 points in the college decision category.

And Tee Higgins—we were already HUGE fans, but that signed jersey?! If the boys and men in this family have anything to say about it, I’m pretty sure it’s going above the fireplace.
