From First Missionary Church—
Scott and Amber Steiner have asked us to share the following statement about their son Gabe:
“Our hearts are hurting this afternoon as we believe Gabe met Jesus, though his body is still with us. Gabe’s intracranial pressures rose to an alarming level and we believe that he no longer has meaningful brain function. We are currently weaning off Gabe’s pain and sedation medication to confirm this diagnosis. We do not know how long this will take. Once we have confirmed this, we will be taking him off the ventilator and keeping him comfortable until his heart stops beating. We love and appreciate all of you and are truly humbled by the outpouring of love and prayers we have all received already. Your prayers are what have kept our family strong enough to weather this storm. Gabe was a true fighter (which we knew he would be) and we are so proud of him for fighting for all of us. We wished and prayed so hard for God to heal him on earth. But we trust in our loving God, and know Gabe ran into the arms of Jesus with his huge, beautiful smile.”
