There is a gymnasium located in eastern Indiana where a shot can leave your hands in one state and drop through the net in another.

The Union School sits on the stateline at College Corner, Ohio and West College Cornet, Indiana … the first gym one was built together in 1893. A replacement was designed in 1925 and dedicated on December 21, 1926, with a center stone set on the boundary and an arched doorway on each state’s side. Center court is the border.
From 1918 to 1961 the Eastern and Central time zones split along Indiana’s eastern edge, which put an hour between the two halves of the floor. The high school entered tournaments in both states. Grades nine through twelve moved to Liberty, Indiana in 1972.
The elementary school is still in the building. It is still half in Ohio.
