(5-19-24) The 2024 SSN All-Mercer County Softball team has been named.

Coldwater’s Madison Wendel for the 4th consecutive and final time has been named the SSN Player of the Year.

Wendel, a Central Michigan commit, has put together one of the most impressive careers in Mercer County softball history.

Just some of the hitting records she will leave behind when she graduates…. the school’s single-season home run record, the school’s career hits record, the MAC record for career homers and tied the OHSAA record for most homers in a doubleheader with five.

In the circle…this season Wendel struck out her 1,000th career hitter, which extended her school and Midwest Athletic Conference career records.

As of May 10th she had 76 wins (5-16-24) in the circle, 1,041 strikeouts,a 1.43 ERA in 642 career innings and a batting average of .490 with 171 hits, 46 homers and 125 RBIs. (still playing at time of this posting).

Five of the ten players on the team are from Parkway.

This year’s team has 2 Freshman, 1 Sophomore, 2 Juniors and 5 Seniors.
