(4-2-17) Rockford East’s (Illinois) Brandon Folk (LHP Junior) is this week’s SSN National Baseball Player of the Week.
Folk hit and pitched the E-Rabs to a 11-1 six inning win over Woodstock. On the mound Folk struck out 11 on 4 hits and 1 walk to pick up his 2nd win of the season. The loss ended a Blue Streaks four game winning streak.
Folk went 4-4, including a triple, 2 RBIs, scored a run and stole a base.
After the game Folk told McHenry County Sports:
“I definitely missed a few spots and (Woodstock) took advantage of it. I just had to come back and hit my spots, honestly. It was nice when we put the runs up because if I let a guy on base, I was still pretty comfortable out there.”
