Anytime we can go to Homestead and defeat a program of that size and ability is an accomplishment.

And then Katelin was Katelin. Homestead is a good program, but Katelin was not intimidated by who they were, but came into the game with attitude of “this is who we are!” She is a competitive kid. She throws hard and her ball moves. Plain and simple she is hard to hit. She can paste both parts of the plate. We have also defended the bunt very well too. Pitching strikes and playing defense is the name of the game. Right now we are doing a great job of that. Katelin is a big reason for that. Her hard work and time she has put into the years of lessons and summer ball has really paid off for her. She is special.

Augsberger would follow that up Thursday in the opening conference game in a 6-1 win over Bluffton with 17 K’s, giving up just 1 runs on three hits.

To finish off the week she struck out 18 in a Saturday 6-0 win over Lakewood Park with 18 K’s.

Her season stats are quite impressive:

Won-Lost: 9-0
56 innings
18 hits
17 BB
5 runs
4 earned runs
134 k’s
.50 ERA
