Former Celina head football coach Jared Rolfes who coached from  2008 to 2012 and went 18-32 and eft in 2013 season moving to North Carolina. He became the offensive coordinator at Northern Guilford for one year, reaching the Class 3-AA West Regional final.  He than moved to Northwest Guilford to become the Head Coach for the next three seasons with a 23-14 record, the Vikings would reach the Class 4-AA playoffs each season, advancing to the second round last season.

Rolfes will be making another move and has decided to leave Northwest Guilford to become the new head coach at Page replacing Kevin Gillespie.  Under Gillespie the Pirates went to the Class 4-AA championship game the last two seasons and picked up a state title in 2011. Gillespie in May resigned and left Page to  become the new head coach at Asheboro.

Rolfes told greensboro.com

“It’s tough to overlook a school like Page that football-wise has had the recent success and just the makeup of the school and the platform that God is using me as a person of faith to continue to build young men into quality people and to use a different platform. I don’t want to compare the two schools, but I think it just presents a different opportunity from a football standpoint and it’s just something I’m really excited about.”

The cupboard is not bare as Page’s roster features four-star recruit LB Alan Tisdale, plus four of five returning starters on the offensive line. The Pirates will be in the Metro 4-A Conference with Northwest Guilford, the two teams will play at Northwest Guilford on Oct. 13.
