(6-17-17) – Celina’s Seth Lonsway has added another award to his list as he ends his high school career. Lonsway was named as a Pitcher to Collegiate Baseball’s 1st Team All American Team.

Only four players from Ohio, including Lonsway, were honored on the list.

1st Team

  • C- Dillon Dingler, Jackson H.S., Massillon, OH

2nd Team

  • RHP – Jace Burke, RHP, Walsh Jesuit H.S., Cuyhoga Falls, OH
  • SS/2B – Brendan Regan, SS/2B, Walsh Jesuit H.S., Cuyahoga Falls, OH

Lonsway, who is an Ohio State commit, was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 19th round (557th pick) last week.

Lonsway told the Daily Standard what the next move for him will be:

“We’re going to sit down and discuss things and go over terms. The Reds will come to us and give their information. We’ll assess (the information) from there and make our decision what we’ll do with my family and the advisers. The next two weeks or so, we’ll get everything figured out and go from there.”

Lonsway’s numbers this past season, the lefty went 7-1 with a 1.31 ERA and 92 Ks in 48 innings.  He also became the Bulldogs career strikeout King.

Other honors for Lonsway this season included, WBL Player of the Year, D II NW District Player of the Year and D2 State co-Player of the Year.
