(7-5-17) USA Today announced their 2017 All Ohio Baseball team.

Celina’s Seth Lonsway and Vandalia-Butler’s Damon Dues (son of Coldwater grad Trent) were named to the first team and and Wapakoneta’s Manny Vorhees picked up second team honors.

1st Team

  • Seth Lonsway, P, Celina, 6-2/190, Sr.
  • Damon Dues, INF, Butler (Vandalia), 6-0/180, Sr.

2nd Team

  • Manny Vorhees, P, Wapakoneta, 6-2/210, Jr.

Lonsway was named as a Pitcher to Collegiate Baseball’s 1st Team All American Team.

Lonsway went 7-1 with a 1.31 ERA and 92 Ks in 48 innings.  He also became the Bulldogs career strikeout King.

Other honors for Lonsway this season included, WBL Player of the Year, D II NW District Player of the Year and D2 State co-Player of the Year.

Lonsway was drafted in the 19th round round by the Reds, but has also committed to play this fall at Ohio State.

Dues, is the son of Vandalia-Butler Head Coach Trent Dues (Coldwater grad), hit .412 and scored 37 runs. He broke the Aviators career hits record with 151) and runs scored with 137.

Dues was named to the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association DI All Ohio First Team, 1st team All GWOC.

Wapakoneta’s Manny Vorhees is just a junior, he was named 1st Team All WBL and All District and was named Ohio’s D II co-Player of the Year with Lonsway.
