(8-9-17) Coldwater’s first All-Ohio First Team volleyball selection in her Senior year, (also named first team All-Midwest Athletic Conference and first team All-District 8) Macy Reigelsperger (5’10 MB) is entering her Senior season at DI UT-Martin of the Ohio Valley Conference.
Last season, her first as a member of the Skyhawk volleyball squad, after transferring from Owen Community College, she played in all 110 sets ans started in all 31 matches. Led the team with 844 attempts, ranked second on the squad in kills (256, 2.33 per set), service aces (19) and blocks (49), added 197 digs (1.79 per set) and 12 assists. Reigelsperger had double-digit kills in 13 matches, seven came in Ohio Valley Conference play. Established new career-highs in kills (15) and attack percentage (.393) in just three sets at Murray State. She had four double-doubles and added double-figure digs in six matches, including a career-best 17 digs against Louisiana-Lafayette. Had six service aces in just three sets against South Carolina, 15 multi-block performances, including a career-high fivein the win against Jacksonville State. Reigelsperger was named to the Little Rock Invitational all-tournament team and to the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
After graduating from Coldwater she had two impressive seasons at Owens Community College being named to back-to-back first team All-Ohio Community College Athletic Conference. Reigelsperger was named the 2015 OCCAC Player of the Year after leading the nation in points (758.5) and helping the Express post a 40-8 record (undefeated 14-0 mark in conference play) with a ninth-place finish at the NJCAA Division-II Tournament.
The Skyhawks start the 2017 season on Friday, August 25th at the WVU Invitational in Morgantown, W. Va. UT Martin will play its first 12 matches at road or neutral sites before the Skyhawks’ home opener is set against Southeast Missouri on Sept. 19.
