(8-10-17) Harlem will be adding DI prospect to its boys basketball team this season. Numerous sources say Andre White Jr. (5’9 Junior) will join Christian Life’s Treye Tucker and Coach Mike Winters to make the Huskies a legitimate program to win the NIC 10 championship this season.

White’s father, Andre Sr. is moving his business to the Stateline area:

White Sr. operates Future Elite Travel Basketball and is Director for A.R Vision Basketball Training, both have been located in Waukegan in the past.

For White Jr., Harlem will be his fourth school in four years.

As an eighth grader he played at Waukegan Jefferson Middle School, he had 23 points, seven rebounds and seven steals as point guard in the tournament finals.

As a freshman he attended parochial power-house Loyala Academy.

“And he’s a great kid, a great player. We like him and his family very much. He’s got a bright future. And I wish him all the best.”

For the Ramblers that season, 40 of 110 three-point attempts (35 percent), 48 assists (2nd on the team), 31 steals (2nd on the team), 43 deflections (2nd on the team) and 53 rebounds (4th on the team).

Last season he transferred to Harvest Christian in Elgin to play for his father. The Lions went 25-5, went undefeated in the Northeastern Athletic Conference, won a Class 1A regional title before losing in the sectional semifinal.
