(10-21-17)  Celina’s Brett Schwieterman, for the 2nd time in 2017, is this week’s SSN Player of the Week.

The Junior QB had ‘monster’ numbers in a 63-21 win over Van Wert on the road. Schwieterman completed 13 of 15 passes for 340 yards and 6 TDs (43, 10, 90, 12, 61 and 20), including a 90 yard hook-up with Dillon Hoying.  Schwieterman also rushed for 141 yards on 18 carries, making his total offense for the night 481 yards.

On the season Schwieterman is 88 of 142 passing for 1,373 yards and he has rushed for 723 yards on 134 carries.

The 90 yard pass play to Hoying is a school record breaking a record set in 2002 against Kenton, when Joe Kanney hit Tim Homan on a 88 yard pass play. His 340 yards passing is 9th on the all-time single game list. His 6 TD passes is an all-time single game record passing many who had 4 in a game.

Kole Murlin’s four TD reception’s is the most ever caught in a single Bulldog game.

HONORABLE MENTION

Ft. Recovery’s Will Homan rushed for 291 yards on 22 carries and 3 TDs (79, 5, and 51 run)  in a win over New New Bremen 38-7. Homan is just 138 yards away (1,862) from 2,000 on the season.

Marion Local’s Nolan Habodasz had a 160 yards rushing on the night and 3 TDs (34, 9 and 58).

Coldwater’s Ben Wenning was 18 of 65 yards rushing and 3 TDs (1, 11 and 4) in Coldwater’s come from behind 28-21 win over Anna.

Adams Central’s Drew Schultz rushed 21 time for 110 yards as the Flying Jets beat South Adams 28-7 in the first round of the State playoffs.

Jay County’s Cole Stigleman rushed for 156 yards on 38 carries and scored 2 TDs in a 22-21 first round playoff win over Logansport. Stigleman also broke the all-time career rushing record with 3,116 yards and a chance to add to the next week. He also caught a 24 yard pass from QB Holton Hill, with that pass Hill went over the 3,000 yard mark in his career.
