(10-21-17) The MAC will have a ‘multitude’ of teams running at next week’s OHSAA D III Cross Country Regionals, four boys teams will advance from District, while six of the 10 MAC conference members in girls also make the trip.  Celina will move on thanks a 2nd place finish in D II

Parkway finished 1-2 in the Northwest District – District 1 Meet at Ottawa, Matt Gaerke picked up the District individual trophy in a time of 17:02 and teammate Kyle Roth was right behind him in 17:16.02

Minster won the race thanks to strong finishes by Jon Albers, Andrew Broering, Luke Barga and Carter Pohl finishing 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th.

The Wildcats had 40 points and Parkway had 50 and both qualify for Regionals next weekend.


District D III Boys at Ottawa


In District II of the Northwest District in D III, St. Henry and Coldwater finished 2nd and 4th to advance to the Regional Meet next week. Lincolnview edged St. Henry for the win 56-61.

St. Henry was led again by Devin Huelskamp in 2nd place with a time of 16:39.7, while Coldwater was led by Andrew Schoen who finished 8th in a time of 17:28.9.


District D III - 2 Boys at Ottawa


DII at Ottawa

Celina finished 8th at D II Districts with 203 points, Van Wert won the District title with 50 points.

The Bulldogs’ Hunter Lynch was 12th in a time of 17:33.1 and Ethan Ly finished in 18th in a time of   17:49.9.



D II Girls CC Podium


Lauren Jackson (20:37.4) led Celina with a 3rd place finish at the Ottawa D II Districts. The Bulldogs Caleigh Ross finished 9th in a time of 21:05.5, Ashley Robinson was in 13th, Kennedy Newell in 20th and Sara Wenning in 31st.

Celina and Napoleon tied for 1st with 76 points, but Napoleon won on the tie-breaker when their 6th runner beat the Bulldogs 6th runner by just one place.

With the finish Celina advances to Regional competition next week.


District D II Girls at Ottawa

In D III in the Northwest District – District 1 meet the ‘Wonder Women’ of Minster did it again, placing their Top 5 runners in the Top 8 and beating 2nd place Coldwater 19-80.

Minster’s Emma Watcke continued her winning ways taking the District title in a time of 18:55.9.  Marion Local’s Kelsey Broering finished 2nd in a time of 19:35.8.

Leading Coldwater was a 16th place finish by Courtney Bey, Colby Homan in 17th place and the 18th place finish by Freshmen Sara Hoingford and Beth Honingford who came in in 21st.

Marion Local also qualified for Regionals by coming in third place with 91 points.


District D III Girls at Ottawa


In the District 2 race three more MAC schools qualified for Regionals, St. Henry was 2nd, New Bremen 3rd and Ft. Recovery 4th, Columbus Grove won the race.

Ft. Recovery’s Chloe Will finished 3rd in a time of 20:39.3, St. Henry’s Katie Kunkler (20:42.2) came in 4th to lead the Redskins.
