11-10-17 – The #1 Coldwater Cavaliers (28-1) will play for a D III State Title on Saturday after beating Independence in three straight sets 25-19, 25-12, 25-23. The loss for Independence was only their second loss of the season as they end the year at 26-2.
Three Cavs were in double-figures in kills, Lauren Gilliland had 13, Allison Sudhoff had 11 and Tasha Kahlig had 10. Gilliland had 7 blocks and Taylor Siefring had 6.
Elena Knapke had 32 assists, while Katie Alig had 20 digs and Taylor Siefring had 14.
The Cavaliers will play the winner of the Versailles-Tuskawaras Valley at 3pm Saturday at the Nutter Center and in their first ever State title game. Coldwater with this win is the second MAC team to play for a State title this weekend, a win by Versailles in the semifinal will guarantee at least one MAC State Champion.
Coldwater state finals ticket sales for volleyball will be sold Saturday morning 9:00-10:00 am in HS Office. $8 each.
