9-8-17 Marion Local 13 Coldwater 7 – WOSN You Tube Video

(11-12-17) Thanks to the OHSAA’s new competitive balance plan Marion Local and Coldwater will be playing this Friday night in the OHSAA High School Football Playoffs Region 24 Finals game. Have they ever played each other in the playoffs? Not that we could find checking all the way back to 2004, so this is a ‘blue moon’ type of moment.

The winner will get the opportunity to move on to the next step in the playoffs and win a D VI football championship.

REGION 24: Midwest Athletic Conference regular season rematch.  Marion Local beat Coldwater 13-7 in week 3.

(OHSAA Newsletter) The Division VI, Region 24 final will be played between Midwest Athletic Conference schools and perennial state powers Maria Stein Marion Local and Coldwater. These two programs have combined for 140 playoff wins and 15 state championships all-time, 11 of those titles coming since 2007. Both schools have made nine final four appearances in the last 10 years with Marion Local missing in 2010 and Coldwater missing in 2008.
