(7-16-18) Ft. Recovery’s Val Muhlenkamp announced today on Twitter that she has committed to the University of Findlay to continue her basketball career after she graduates in two more years. Last year as a Sophomore Muhlenkamp was named to the Midwest Athletic Conference All-Conference 2nd team.
Ft. Recovery Girls Head Basketball Coach Brian Patch:
Val verbally committed to Findlay University. She wanted to play close to home and at a highly competitive program. Findlay provides both of those opportunities to Val and her family. Ft Recovery has had some good players choose Findlay (Clark May,Tyler Niekamp, Greg Kahlig, Elijah “Pig”Kahlig) because of their proximity and success of their teams. The atmosphere at Findlay is a great place to play and a lot of Fort community members go to Croy to support our past players. Val has put in a lot of work in the past year to make this happen. The great part is she will only continue to get better. She is a matchup nightmare at 6’0 she can hit the three, out the ball on the floor to beat her defender, post up smaller players, and score off the offensive rebound. Plus with her size and athleticism she can switch out and guard multiple positions. I am very excited and happy for Val and her family.
The good news for Patch and the Indians is that Muhlenkamp still has two more seasons to play for the purple and white.
