(8-15-20) One of the top girls volleyball programs in Indiana has had a tough week, not losing to an opponent on the court…but to a virus – COVID 19.

Due to the growing spread of COVID-19 in our community North Adams has made the tough decision to suspend all practices & contests until Mon 8/31 at Bellmont High School. This decision is being made with the safety of our families, students, & opponents in mind.

Bellmont was scheduled to start the season today at Ft. Wayne Northrop, but an order from the Adams County Health Department closed the door on that. The Squaws are coming off a great season that ended last season as the Class 3 State Runner-ups. This year looked to be another great season.

Bellmont did get some good news…they are ranked 4th in this week’s indianaprepvolleyball.com poll released this morning.

But the earliest they could play their first game is September 1st.

The order also delayed the start of the North Adams School District as well –

School will not begin in class on the 17th. Because of growing COVID-19 concerns in the county, school will begin on August 18th online. School in class is projected to start August 31st. All fall sports are postponed until that time as well.
