(2-19-21) Swanton heard a presentation on plans at the most recent Board of Education meeting on possibly leaving the Northwest Ohio Athletic League (NWOAL).

According to the presentation the new league being discussed would include six full-time members and one football only member from three different conferences. –

  • Swanton – NWOAL
  • Delta – NWOAL
  • Evergreen – NWOAL
  • Ottawa Hills – Toledo Area Athletic Conference
  • Northwood – Toledo Area Athletic Conference
  • Montpelier – Buckeye Border Conference
  • Edon (Football only) – Buckeye Border Conference

Declining enrollment –

Northwest Ohio is presently a ‘hotbed’ for possible conference changes, involving the Northern Lakes League and the Three Rivers Athletic Conference. The NLL hopes to add 8 new members, while 10 TRAC schools will look to apply for those spots.
