(3-16-21) At last night’s Ft. Recovery Board of Education meeting girls basketball coach Holly Gann was hired as the new Athletics and Transportation Director. Gann will replace current AD Brent Niekamp who recently stepped down.
FR BOE Board Items

2. Motion to hire Brent Niekamp as a High School Intervention Teacher on a continuing contract, effective August 1, 2021 pending completion of all requirements and proper certification. Salary as per schedule.
3. Motion to employ Holly Gann for a two (2) Year Administrative Contract effective August 1, 2021, pending completion of all requirements and proper certification. Salary as per schedule.
At the same meeting Niekamp was hired as a High School intervention teacher.
Both Gann and Niekamp will start their new positions on August 1st.
On Monday, March 15, 2021, the Fort Recovery Board of Education voted unanimously to hire Ms. Holly Gann as the next Fort Recovery Athletic & Transportation Director starting on August 1, 2021. Holly is a resident of Fort Recovery and she has nine years of teaching experience in Ohio and Indiana. In addition, she currently serves as the FRHS Varsity Girls’ Head Coach and Assistant Track Coach. Ms. Gann was a graduate and salutatorian of Fort Recovery High School.
Holly received her Bachelor’s Degree from Ball State University and she went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Educational Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana Wesleyan University. This spring, she will complete the necessary coursework for an administrative / principal license. A total of 34 candidates applied to come to Fort Recovery Schools to serve in this position. The interview committee included administrators and varsity head coaches from the district. The board offered her a two year contract as the Athletic / Transportation Director effective August 1, 2021.

I look forward to working with the great staff and community of Fort Recovery.”
