(6-15-21) At the end of May 2018, Turkey Run High School near Marshall, Indiana, began transforming into Parke Heritage Middle School. At the same time, rival Rockville High School will begin its transition into Parke Heritage High School.

But one thing that will always be a part of the Turkey Run past will be the 1996 IHSAA State Softball Championship title.

For Turkey Run the 1996 softball team pulled off one of the biggest surprises in Indiana State Championships. With an enrollment of just 208 they beat defending state champion Center Grove with an enrollment of 1,956 11-7. A very familiar Indiana story line.

It was the 2nd to last season that just one IHSAA softball champion was crowned,

During the run to the title they won 6 games by shut out, one game they only gave up 1 run….Center Grove managed to get 7 runs in the championship game.
