(1-9-22) Saturday night in Knightstown, Indiana Coldwater and Celina played a boys and girls basketball doubleheader at the historic Hoosier Gym, made famous by the movie ‘Hoosiers’.
The Cavaliers picked up a win in the girls game and Celina won an exciting boys game.
It was a night to remember for everyone involved, the games were orginally scheduled for 2021 but cancelled due to the pandemic. Coldwater AD Eric Goodwin, who put together the event, did not give up and kept it scheduled for this year. According to many comments from both sides…it was a big success. Now it is a part of SSN’s Mercer County League history.

2022 finds Marion Local leading the girls MCL with a 5-0 record, Parkway is also undefeated at 3-0.

Why the MCL?
To add a little extra excitement to the boys and girls high school basketball season SSN again will bring you the Mercer County League for the fourth year.
The first year SSN introduced the (mythical) MCL was in 2018-19.
All six Mercer County high schools are included, actual head to head match-ups between the schools that will determine a MCL champion in both boys and girls basketball.
