(1-19-22) The expansion of three teams will bring the Chagrin Valley Conference (located in Northeast Ohio) to 25 teams…Madison, Jefferson and Conneaut (Pennsylvania).
The three schools come from different conferences, Madison from the Western Reserve Conference. Jefferson from the Northeast 8 Athletic Conference — Conneaut (Linesville, PA) was a member of District 10 in Pennsylvania.
League Commissioner Dr. Don Lewis told the News Herald –
“What we have in mind for the kids is the best competition under the safest conditions with the least travel possible to make a league.”
Chagrin Valley Conference
Four divisions — Lake, Chagrin, Valley and Metro. The tentative breakdown is as follows:
• Lake Division: Madison, Geneva, Lakeside, Jefferson, Conneaut and Edgewood.
• Chagrin Division: Chagrin Falls, Orange, West Geauga, Lutheran West, Hawken and Perry.
• Valley Division: Berkshire, Cardinal, Kirtland, Crestwood, Grand Valley and Harvey.
• Metro Division: Independence, Beachwood, Cuyahoga Heights, Independence, Trinity, Brooklyn and Wickliffe.
The largest athletic conference is located in the Columbus area is the Ohio Capital Conference. Currently it has 32 members, with two more joining in 2024.
