The final 1:38 of William Blount vs Farragut, a Region 2-4A semifinal that was suspended on Tuesday because of an on-court altercation. The game resumed Friday, March 4, with Farragut ahead 63-50. Each team played with just three players, each of whom was deemed eligible. The rest had been ejected Tuesday for either their participation in the shoving match or for leaving the bench, the latter of which is against TSSAA rules. Video + interview by Micah White.
(3-4-22) The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) has had a busy week after a tournament game between Knox Farragut and William Blount was stopped after an altercation. Both schools were eliminated from the tournament due to the incident.

The officials report from Tuesday’s Region 2-4A semifinal between Farragut and William Blount boys basketball states that the game was suspended after every player on both teams was ejected following a physical altercation between two players on the court.
The official called a holding foul on William Blount’s Caden Windle after the rebound. After the whistle sounded, Smith threw an elbow at Windle and was ejected for a flagrant technical foul. Windle then threw Smith to the floor and was also ejected for a flagrant technical.

The teams were reinstated to the Tennessee high school basketball playoffs after a no-contest was ruled in Tuesday’s game at Farragut after a scuffle broke out with 1:38 to play with Farragut leading 63-50 when the game was suspended,
The schools were given two options by the TSSAA: Play the remaining 1:38 with the players who were not ejected, or agree to end the game and declare Farragut the winner.

The TSSAA will allow the Farragut and William Blount boys basketball teams to finish their suspended Region 2-4A semifinal game.
The game will resume with William Blount having three players and Farragut having two.
The region semifinal winner will be without the varsity players (two game suspensions) who were suspended but can bring up players from the junior varsity team to fill out the roster for the region championship and sectional games.
