Montgomery took over the starting quarterback job at Findlay in the third week of the 2021 season and went on to lead the Trojans to an 8-3 record and their first playoff win in 16 years. They would lose to eventual D I State Champion Springfield in the Regionals. In 11 starts as a freshman, Montgomery completed 173 of 299 passing attempts (57.9%) for 2,420 yards and 29 touchdowns.
With all of that success from last season it has been a busy last few weeks…Montgomery has been on visits to the A-List of D 1 football programs.
The above schools are just the most recent visits, Montgomery has also visited Ohio State (already has an offer). You name the school the interest is there including Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame…etc.
Ryan is trained by Brad Maendler, who is an Ohio quarterback trainer and he told Bucknuts last October-
“He is well ahead of most kids that age. He is so focused and internally motivated to be great.
He is poised. If you watch him play you can see the (Findlay) staff has done a great job of helping him slow the game down.
His arm strength is very good with a chance to be great. He is very similar to Drew Allar in arm strength at the same age. He has a great upside.”

Did you know?
In February Ryan’s brother Luke (OL), who will be a Senior this year at Findlay, committed to Ohio State in February and is a four star recruit.
Findlay also produced a pretty fair QB several years…you might have heard of him…Ben Roethlisberger who just ended an 18-year long and successfu Hall of Fame type career with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
