(6-20-22) The Ohio High School football season is less then two months away, with the first game in the Stateline area starting on Thursday August 18th. The Midwest Athletic Conferene (MAC) and Western Buckeye League (WBL) both start their seasons with non-conference games. The MAC’s first two weeks are non-conference games, but just the first week for the WBL.

The MAC, a 10-team conference, still plays just 8 conference games. When it was decided to not play a 9-game conference schedule due to just 8 teams in a region qualifying for the playoffs. Last year was the first season for 16 teams in a region to qualify and not depending on scheduling certain teams for additional computer point.

In 2022 there are four MAC-WBL match-ups, highlighted by a first time game between Bath at New Bremen. The other three games are continuations from last season…Wapakoneta at Marion Local, Versailles at Celina and Coldwater at Kenton.

Week 2 in the MAC finds some new match-ups…Coldwater at Bellefontaine, Archbold at St. Henry, North Central at Parkway and Graham at Minster.
