Toledo Cardinal Stritch Will Not Play 11-Man Football This Year

(7-1-22) According to a tweet by Lynn Groll of blackswampfootball.com Toledo Cardinal Stritch told 10 football opponents yesterday they would not be playing 11-man football this season. Less then 2-months away is short notice for the teams who now face an open date.

Cardinal Stritch is a member of the Toledo Area Athletic Conference and was also in Region 26 in D VII for the state football playoffs.

Groll said that one opponent South Central has already found an opponent for Week 3, they will play Lowellville , which is a 2-hour road trip.

In a Cardinal Stritch football tweet from this past week there was no indication of the decision –

Varsity Football workouts will be Monday and Wednesday from 9-10 am this week. Come join Coach Cromwell on the field as we prepare for the 2022 season.

No details, including social media, from school officials on the decision to cancel 11-man football or if they will attempt the 8-man route.
