CELINA, Ohio, Nov. 15, 2022 — The Grand Lake Mariners Baseball Club held its annual organizational meeting on November 9 in advance of the 2023 season.
The board of directors consists of returning members Chad Altstaetter, Jason Andrew, Betty Feliciano, Joe Hoying, Carl Huber, Jeff Ingraham, John Lazarich, Dave Maurer, Bill Montgomery, Mike Overman, Bill Rockwell and Mark Wulfhorst.
The following board members are also officers of the Mariners: Montgomery, President; Huber, Vice President; Hoying, Treasurer and Andrew, Secretary.
Board members and coaching staff have begun preparations for the 2023 Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League (GLSCL) season. The Mariners’ roster for the upcoming season will be finalized soon.
Montgomery said –
“We’re all looking forward to another exciting year of Mariners baseball. The community can expect a season of family-friendly fun as our talented young athletes compete for the Great Lakes pennant.”
The Grand Lake Mariners were founded in 1989 and played their first game in 1990. The team will enter its 34th season in 2023. It is the second oldest franchise in the GLSCL. The Great Lakes League is one of twelve summer leagues approved by the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball (NACSB). The NACSB is sponsored in part by Major League Baseball, which requires the use of wood bats.
